1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how the ONDA website (ondagames.it, hereinafter the “Site”) handles cookies and similar tracking technologies. The Site is operated by ONDA S.r.l., a spin-off of Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, based in Italy and acting as data controller (the “Controller”).
This document is provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 as amended), and the Italian Data Protection Authority Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser and store limited information across pages or visits. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, web beacons, pixels and fingerprinting techniques.
Cookies are commonly classified as:
- Technical cookies — strictly necessary to deliver a service explicitly requested by the user. These do not require prior consent.
- Analytics cookies — used to measure traffic and usage. Anonymised analytics may be exempt from consent; otherwise consent is required.
- Profiling cookies — used to build user profiles, deliver targeted advertising or personalise content. Always require prior, informed and freely-given consent.
3. Cookies set directly by this Site
The Site itself does not set any first-party cookies. It is a static informational website with no login area, no shopping cart, no comment system and no personalised content. The Controller does not write first-party cookies on the user’s device.
4. Local storage and session storage
The Site does not use the localStorage or
sessionStorage Web Storage APIs to retain data on
your device.
5. Third-party services and external resources
With the single exception described in the next section, all assets used by the Site (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, video, fonts) are served directly from the same origin as the Site itself. No content, scripts, fonts or media are loaded from third-party content delivery networks.
The only outbound links present on the Site are:
- a hyperlink to unimarconi.it (the affiliated university), opened only when the user actively clicks on it;
-
mailto:links pointing to info@ondagames.it, which open the user’s own email client.
Following these links transfers the user to a different website or application, whose privacy and cookie practices are outside the scope of this policy and are governed by their respective providers.
6. Embedded Google Form (Roma Tech Fest 2026 page)
The dedicated page
romatechfest-2026.html,
related to ONDA’s participation in the Roma Tech Fest
2026 event, embeds a feedback questionnaire hosted on
Google Forms via an <iframe>
pointing to docs.google.com. This is the only
page of the Site that loads content from a third party.
Loading that page causes the user’s browser to send a request to Google servers, which inevitably discloses the IP address and the User-Agent string to Google LLC (United States). Google may, in turn, set its own cookies or similar identifiers under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Google acts as an independent data controller for any data collected through the embedded form.
The Controller has chosen to host the questionnaire on Google Forms because of the legitimate interest in collecting structured feedback during a specific public event of limited duration. The user is informed before the form is rendered by means of a notice placed immediately above the iframe. Users who do not wish their data to be shared with Google should simply not visit that page.
7. Server logs
Like any web server, the hosting provider may automatically record technical access logs (such as the IP address of the requesting device, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status code and user-agent string). These logs are kept solely for the legitimate interest of operating the service securely, diagnosing faults and preventing abuse, and are not used to identify or profile individual visitors. Their retention is limited to what is strictly necessary for these purposes.
8. How to control cookies in your browser
Should you wish to control any cookies set by Google or by any other site you visit, you may at any time review, manage and delete cookies through the settings of your browser. Refer to the documentation of your browser:
9. Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR you have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, the right to object to processing and the right to data portability, where applicable. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — in Italy the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (garanteprivacy.it).
To exercise these rights you may contact the Controller at the address below.
10. Updates to this policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the Site, in applicable legislation or in interpretive guidance issued by competent authorities. The current version is identified by the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
